The laying of the foundation stone for the new Vishakawatta St. Maximilian Kolbe church was presided over by Reverend Father Ernest De Mel, Parish priest of Kanuwana, led by Reverend Father Kennedy Perera, Rector of Loyola College, Negombo and Reverend Father Ranjan Silva, Deanery head of Tudella with the participation of other invited Fathers and a large number of invited guests on August 20, 2023. The ceremony was held after the annual feast mass. A large number of parishioners participated enthusiastically in this work.
